Pot roast is sooo good. Great food, great service, and just a warm, cozy place to enjoy a delicious dinner.

Went for an informal anniversary dinner on a Thursday. Ambiance is fine and relaxed and not too posh. Service was fine and polite. I like the bar area more than the restaurant - less formal. Mussels weren't particularly good. Chowder was pretty good. Overall though, it's a nice place to be but it is on the pricey side- remember this is Ipswich not Boston.
The atmosphere is beautiful, and perfect for special occasions. The food is inconsistent. Sometimes it's delicious, other times it's overcooked.
We had a reservation here after my friend's wedding. There were seven of us, and they put us in our own little room with candles and fancy chairs. The restaurant itself is beautiful (but be careful on the stairs- they are old stairs and if you're tall you're gonna have to watch your head) and the private room was a great touch. The food was also amazing and the service was great. The spice spiked cider was delicious- three of us ordered it and kept wanting more! Definitely would recommend this place if you're in the area and want a nice dinner!
